Nourished Natural Health is a US supplement brand for women with PCOS, with formulas for hormone balance, cycle support and blood sugar, an online assessment and a large PCOS library. In 2023 MILEDEVS worked on the store's loading speed without touching its design: lighter images and video, leaner CSS and JavaScript, lazy loading and a review of third-party app scripts.

SPEED OPTIMIZATION

A performance pass on the live Shopify store with one rule from the brand: no design changes. Work went page by page, starting with the homepage, and covered images, video, code and third-party scripts.

IMAGES & VIDEO

Store images were compressed, heavy SVG graphics converted to lighter files and videos slimmed down. Images below the first screen were set to load lazily, menu images kept loading right away, and videos switched from autoplay to play on tap.

CSS & JAVASCRIPT

Stylesheets and scripts were minified, key fonts and styles preloaded, and non-critical scripts moved to asynchronous loading so they no longer held up the first screen. Lazy loading was also enabled inside the GemPages builder used for landing pages.

APP SCRIPT AUDIT

Every third-party script loading on all pages was listed and checked with the brand's team. Leftover code from apps no longer in use, such as an old page builder and a tracking pixel, was removed, while the tools the team relies on stayed.

Changes were aimed at Core Web Vitals, the loading, interactivity and layout stability signals Google uses. Progress was measured in GTmetrix as the work went, with a written report to the team after each working day.
